02
In-School Round
Held in the main hall, the 7 finalists from each grade and group compete.
The top three spellers are awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place titles.
All students are encouraged to practice their Arabic word lists carefully and prepare with confidence and pride.
Arabic Spelling Bee Rules (Overview)
- The competition is conducted in rounds; each speller spells one word per round.
- Students must face the judges and clearly pronounce each letter. Letter sounds, unclear sounds, or incorrect articulation will be considered misspellings.
- SAY THE WORD, SPELL THE WORD, SAY THE WORD.
- Before spelling, students may request a definition, sentence, part of speech, language of origin, alternate pronunciation, or repetition. No requests may be made once spelling begins.
- Spellers are given two minutes to complete the spelling.
- Judges determine the correctness of each word and their decisions are final.
- A speller may restart from the beginning but may not change previously spoken letters.
- Elimination continues round by round until final winners are declared, following championship procedures when necessary.
At Rising Star Academy, the Annual Arabic Spelling Bee is more than a competition — it is a celebration of language, heritage, precision, and academic excellence.
We are proud of our students as they honor the richness of the Arabic language with confidence and dedication.
