The Rising Star Academy Debate Program empowers Middle School and High School students to think critically, speak confidently, and engage respectfully in civil discourse. Competing in regional tournaments across New Jersey and New York, RSA debaters consistently excel—bringing home impressive victories while developing lifelong academic and leadership skills.
OUR MISSION
The Rising Star Academy Debate Team strives to improve student creative and critical thinking abilities through the exploration of social, historical and governmental resolutions. The debate team encourages students to use their voice clearly, confidently and articulately on issues that impact local, national and international communities. Students use argumentation skills developed via fact based inquiry, logical reasoning and oratory skills that convey their message in an effective manner; all skills that students are encouraged to implementable beyond the debate room. The RSA debate team strives to encourage civil debate on critical matters – a crucial skill in need to navigate our 21st century world.
